Brotte
The history of Brotte is a story of a family from Châteauneuf-du-Pape who have a passion for the great terroirs and wines from the Rhône Valley.
Founded in 1931 by Charles Brotte, the winery is among the first ones to bottle its wines and offer a large choice of Rhône Valley wines. Today, several generations work with Laurent Brotte, 4th generation, owner and general manager : his wife, Christine Brotte, and their sons Benoît and Thibault, 5th generation. They all participate - with expert knowhow - in the creation of refined wines that are elegant, fruity, authentic and remarkably smooth.
The winery is based in the famous Chateauneuf-de-papes village with additional estates in Laudun (in process of becoming a Cru) and Cairanne. Vineyards cover 84 hectares and the Brotte family can boast to having a great selection of old bush vine Grenache grown on the galets soil, low yielding for best quality (33 to 40 hl/ha) and great concentration. Additionally they demonstrate great affection and knowledge of what quality Syrah can do when handled expertly and grown in these unique terroirs.
